THERE AIN’T NOBODY FRESHER- Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 2013
One of Margiela’s most casual collections yet, the 2013 spring/summer edit focuses on two recurring motifs of unexpected metallic colour and a variety of sleeveless vested garments. A combination of light tones and soft neutrals (cream/camel) give this collection a distinctly relaxed aesthetic, while retaining the house’s quintessential luxury. A variety of vests make a continued appearance while large print patterns abound on white and neutral mockups.
The collection is rounded out with beautifully cut shawl lapel dinner jackets, double breasted vests in cotton and subtle details like contrast trim on the collar lining of outerwear. Combining the subtle with the consistent, Margiela’s 2013 Spring/Summer collection will have both streetwear enthusiasts and tailoring nerds eager for the coming European summer.
